DECORATING FOXBORO COMMON

For more than thirty years, the Foxboro Jaycees have been helping bring the magic of the holiday season to Foxboro Common! Each December, we decorate the Common with festive bows, wreaths, and garland. We also string twinkling lights along the hedges at the foot of the Common, around the bandstand, and on the lamp posts throughout the Common. This beloved holiday tradition is made even more special with the help of our community. Everyone is invited to join the Jaycees, lend a hand with the decorating, and help us make Foxboro Common shine brightly for the holiday season!
NATIVITY SET ON FOXBORO COMMON

Each December, the Foxboro Jaycees and Knights of Columbus come together to continue a cherished holiday tradition on Foxboro Common. The Nativity Scene, originally created in the 1950s, is carefully set up on the bandstand built by the Jaycees in 1972.
The Jaycees have proudly carried on this tradition since the late 1980s. Throughout the year, we store and care for the Nativity set, repainting, repairing, and refurbishing it as needed to preserve this beloved piece of Foxboro’s holiday history.
The entire set received a beautiful, complete refurbishment in 2020, and in 2025 the set was expanded with a matching vintage set from the La Salette Shrine in Enfield, New Hampshire.

Holiday Fruit Basket Project
Each holiday season, the Foxboro Jaycees come together to help make Christmas a little brighter for local families. Working alongside our friends at the Brigham & Women’s / Mass General Health Care Center, we gather to assemble nearly 250 baskets filled with fresh fruit.
Since 2010, this wonderful partnership has helped us provide these special baskets to families receiving Christmas food deliveries through the Town of Foxboro’s Discretionary Fund.
This year, we’ll once again gather at (TBA) to assemble nearly 250 fruit baskets. We are grateful to everyone who helps make this annual tradition possible and brings a little extra holiday cheer to families in our community.
FOXBORO JAYCEES CAROLING ON THE COMMON
DATE: TBA on Foxboro Common. In the event of extreme weather, the event will be moved to Boyden Library.
Each December, for over thirty years, the Foxboro Jaycees invite the town to join us for an evening of Christmas Caroling. We gather at the Foxboro Common bandstand at 6:00PM with the the Foxboro High School Christmas Chorus Band, who provides the music, and Jaycees bring hot chocolate and song books. In the event of bad weather or extreme cold, the event is held inside Boyden Library across the street from Foxboro Common.
DECORATION AND NATIVITY TAKE DOWN

After the holidays are over, the Foxboro Jaycees return to Foxboro Common to take down and store the Nativity display, remove the holiday decorations and lights, and return everything to storage. Help is always needed!
