Each December, the Foxboro Jaycees decorate Foxboro Common with bows and wreaths, and place lights on the hedges at the foot of the Common and around the bandstand. The public is invited to help us do the decorating!

NATIVITY SET ON THE COMMON

Each December, the Foxboro Jaycees set up the Nativity Scene on Foxboro Common, on the bandstand the Jaycees built in 1972. The Jaycees have been doing this since the 1960s, and store the set all year, and repaint, repair, and refurbish it as necessary. The public is invited to help us!

Decorate the Common Start off your morning by spending some time with neighbors and friends sprucing up our town for the holidays. Foxborough Common 9:00 a.m. to Noon Join the Jaycees on the common and help decorate our common with lights, bows and garland around the lamp posts

Foxboro Recreation Event: Make an Ornament Children are encouraged to create an ornament that can be taken home and placed on their family tree. From 4:00 to 5:00 pm  at the Boyden Library.   Sponsored by: Boyden Library and Foxborough Recreation

We dress up, and small groups gather at two appetizer houses, then the whole chapter gathers at the “dessert” house for dessert, music, and holiday cheer!

At the December general membership meeting (GM), we hold our annual Yankee Swap — a small wrapped gift (no more than $10). It’s silly and a lot of fun!

We also take a group picture so be sure to wear your Jaycee shirt!

SANTA ON THE COMMON

Santa and Mrs. Claus will spend a couple hours with the children of Foxborough. Mrs. Claus has promised to bring a basket full of candy canes. Children can sit on Santa’s lap and tell him their wishes for this Christmas. Santa’s personal photographer will be there to capture the visits on film give a secured website to parents to visit to get their photos. We also encourage you to bring your own camera or cell phone.

In case of inclement weather, The Marilyn Rodman Performing Arts Center (Orpheum theater across the street) have graciously invited us to hold this special event at their facility.

CAROLING ON THE COMMON

Each December, the Foxboro Jaycees invite the town to join us at the Foxboro Common Bandstand for an evening of Christmas Caroling. The Foxboro High School Christmas Chorus Band provides the music, and Jaycees bring songbooks, hot candy canes and cookies. We sing carols, and from there, we head to the Doolittle Home to entertain the seniors with our Christmas music.

We make 250+ baskets of fruit for the needy!

The Jaycees gather and create 250 baskets of fresh fruit that are delivered with the Foxboro Discretionary fund food boxes to needy families. Since 2010 we have partnered with our friends from Brigham & Women’s / Mass General Health Care Center to make this possible. JAYCEES, FAMILY, FRIENDS, CHILDREN all WELCOME to help! We need to make 250 baskets; c’mon down and help us!

DECORATION AND NATIVITY TAKE DOWN

After the holidays are over, the Foxboro Jaycees return to Foxboro Common to take down and store the nativity display, and take down the holiday decorations and lights and put them back into storage. Help is needed!
