Foxboro Jaycees
The greatest young person's organization in the world. The Junior Chamber of Commerce offers members the opportunity to meet a group of aggressive young people, take part in worthwhile projects, fulfill a need for personal growth, and contribute to society.
Who we are
The Foxboro Jaycees are a dynamic and enthusiastic group who are both proud and excited to be celebrating our 48th Anniversary in 2008. We provide civic service through the organized efforts of the people of the community and promote the welfare of Foxboro and its citizens through active, constructive projects. We also provide our membership training in leadership and civic consciousness.

We make friends. We learn managerial, project and people skills.

We grow. We help people. We make our community better and have a lot of fun along the way!
Community Service Projects
The Foxboro Jaycees are responsible for a multitude of Foxboro community service projects, such as our annual haunted house fund-raiser (Since 1989, Foxboro's original haunt!), Founders Day Activities, Literacy Challenge, Summer Concerts on the Common, Easter Egg Hunt, My Hero Essays, Sand for Seniors, Relay for Life, as well as Christmas activities such as Santa on the common, decorating the common with Christmas lights, and refurbishing and setting up the nativity set.
Individual Development
The Foxboro Jaycees offer something for everyone. We have sports game outings, installation banquet, scavenger hunt, pickup volleyball, scrapbooking, Jaycee golf open, book club, scat card game, softball, progressive dinner, camping hiking trip, kid's Christmas party, CPR training and more!
Donations and Helping the Community
The Foxboro Jaycees donate money to over 26 different charities, needy individuals, athletes and human service organizations. We donate thousands (thousands!) of dollars to the Foxboro Discretionary Fund, Fireworks committee, Foxboro High School college bound seniors, South Foxboro Community Club and various sports leagues in Foxboro.

Around Foxboro, we are also actively involved helping other worthwhile causes, such as the Cable Auction to benefit the Doolittle Home, Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, Foxboro Human Services, the William Palladino Memorial Scholarship Foundation Community Spelling Bee, Foxboro Council on Aging, Boyden Library, Relay for Life, Rodman Ride for kids, Junior Chamber Family AIDS Network, and much more.

We built the Foxboro Common Bandstand and refurbish it. We led the drive to build the Bill Hyland Memorial Rink. We coordinated and built the Payson Road Playground.

Energy
“The Foxboro Jaycees ... responded in a manner that can only be described in one word – total. There was an immediate infusion of man-hours almost beyond calculation. Whatever the need, there was someone to fill it. Whatever the cost, a way to meet it. Whatever the hurdle, a leap to get over it … With their unique combination of youth and energy, the Jaycees are everywhere as one detects a commonality of theme as members tend to be drawn to those projects that speak to the quality of life.”

--Jack Authelet, THE FOXBORO REPORTER, 4/22/2004
Heart and Soul
"Like most communities, we are fortunate to have a variety of civic and fraternal groups, each striving to make life better for the rest of us. None are more important than another, and all contribute to the small-town mosaic which we've inherited. In this pantheon, however, the Jaycees really do occupy a special place. If simply for their irrepressible spirit and determination to overcome adversity, the Jaycees really are the heart and soul of Foxboro."

--Editor's commentary, The Foxboro Reporter, 11/4/99
Success Stories
We are the Foxboro Jaycees. Since our creation, there have been over
750 individuals who've dedicated time and energy empowering the Foxboro Jaycees to succeed.
The Jaycees are worldwide
The Jaycees (or Junior Chamber of Commerce) is a group of young men and women that join together to improve their lives and their communities. Our goal is to provide leadership training through community service. The Individual Development area sets the Junior Chamber apart from other organizations. While many other groups offer community service and social activities, only Junior Chamber chapters offer members the opportunity for self-improvement. By chairing a local project, a young person can practice organization, delegation, time and resource management, public relations and motivational skills. The Jaycees also offer training programs, usually at no cost to the member, that teach these skills. Even if a project does not meet its goals, if the chairperson learned from the experience, then it's a success.

The Junior Chamber of Commerce organization starts with the local chapter. This chapter will typically serve one or more communities. Chapter members are automatically a member of a state organization, as well as the National organization (U.S. Junior Chamber) and the International organization (Junior Chamber International). Young people all over the world are engaged in Junior Chamber activities.
Making a difference
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

--Margaret Mead
