Degrees of Jaycees
This is a progressive survey of the individual accomplishments of each member within the Foxboro Jaycees. Beginning with 1st degree, a Jaycee records the required information for each criterion as it is achieved. Projects and accomplishments that are used to achieve one degree level may also be listed in subsequent levels. A composite survey list will be maintained by the Foxboro Jaycees Degrees of Jaycees Project Chairman.

Degrees of Jaycees Checklist

1st Degree
The following criteria must be met:
1 – Become a dues paying member
2-Attend a General Membership Meeting
2nd Degree
The following criteria must be met:
1 - Achieve 1st degree level
2 - Achieve TWO of the following three criteria:
a) Participate in a project in any area
b) Attend a membership orientation
c) Attend at least three General Membership Meetings
3rd Degree
The following criteria must be met:
1 – Achieve 2nd degree level
2 – Achieve FOUR of the following six criteria:
a) Recite the Jaycee creed
b) Attend six general membership meetings
c) Be an active member on any project
d) Chair a project
e) Introduce a prospective new member to a GM or project
f) Attend a “How to Run a Project” seminar
4th Degree
The following criteria must be met:
1 – Achieve 3rd degree level
2 –Achieve FOUR of the following six criteria:
a) Hold a position on the Board of Directors
b) Chair a project that requires a committee
c) Be an active member on three projects
d) Recruit or mentor a new member
e) Chair two community development projects
f) Attend JOTS (Junior Officer Training Seminar)
5th Degree
The following criteria must be met:
1 – Achieve 4th degree level
2 –Achieve FOUR of the following seven criteria:
a) Chair two projects that require committees
b) Attend a Foxboro civic meeting
c) Document a completed project
d) Attend a state Jaycee meeting
e) Be an active member on a project with another Jaycee chapter
f) Be an active member on a project in each area:
g) Hold an officer position on the Board (President, Area Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer)
6th Degree
The following criteria must be met:
1 – Achieve 5th degree level
2 –Achieve THREE of the following four criteria:
a) Hold a position on the Board of Directors for two years
b) Chair a Founders Day project
c) Chair at least one of the following projects
1) Christmas Tree Sales
2) Haunted House
3) Road Race
4) Pancake Breakfast
5) Associates Night
6) Concerts on the Common
d) Attend two training projects
7th Degree
The following criteria must be met:
1 – Achieve 6th degree level
2 –Achieve THREE of the following four criteria:
a) Create and run a new project
b) Hold a position on the Board of Directors for two years
c) Recruit three new members
d) Chair a project in each area
8th Degree
The following criteria must be met:
1 – Achieve 7th degree level
2 –Achieve THREE of the following five criteria:
a) Chair a project requiring 20 or more participants
b) Hold a State Jaycee Office
c) Chair two projects in each area
d) Hold an officer position on the Board of Directors for two years (Chairman, President, Area Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer)
e) Participate in a chapter extension
9th Degree
The following criteria must be met:
1 – Achieve 8th degree level
2 –Achieve ONE of the following five criteria:
a) Hold the Presidential position
b) Hold four of the following six positions
1) IDVP
2) CDVP
3) W&M VP
4) MEMVP
5) TREASURER
6) SECRETARY
c) Receive KEYMAN award
d) Chairman of project to extend an outside chapter
e) Receive LIFE MEMBER award
10th Degree
The following criteria must be met:
