The Foxboro Jaycees proudly serve our community through a wide range of annual projects. These projects offer members meaningful opportunities to give back, develop leadership skills, raise funds for local causes, and build lasting connections. Many projects are supported by committees or co-chairpersons, allowing members of all experience levels to get involved. This list highlights many, but not all, of the active projects undertaken by the Jaycees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Projects are grouped into four focus areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provides holiday gifts for children in need, as referred by the Foxboro Discretionary Fund, a local organization that supports individuals and families in times of need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Offers local candidates running for office an opportunity to participate in a live, televised question-and-answer forum. This event is broadcast on Foxboro Cable Access (FCA) and requires coordination with candidates, FCA staff, a moderator, and a timekeeper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An annual holiday tradition in coordination with the Foxboro High School Band and the Doolittle Home. Carols are sung on the Town Common and at the Doolittle Home for residents. In case of inclement weather, the event may be held indoors at Boyden Library. Hot chocolate and cookies are provided free to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A free summer concert series held on the Foxboro Town Common. Bands are booked in the spring to create an enjoyable lineup for the community throughout the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A family-friendly event featuring the Easter Bunny on the Town Common. Volunteers assist with setup, age-group hunt areas, photos, and event coordination. A committee is recommended due to the scale of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participation in Foxboro\u2019s annual Founder\u2019s Day Parade, either through creating a float or marching as a group while handing out candy and promoting the Jaycees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volunteers assemble fruit baskets that are donated to the Foxboro Discretionary Fund for distribution to local families. A committee assists with purchasing, assembly, and delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A nationwide community-police partnership event coordinated with the Foxboro Police Department. Jaycees assist with staffing and serve ice cream to attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ongoing maintenance and repair of the town\u2019s Nativity Scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volunteers install the Nativity Scene on the Town Common for the holiday season and store it after the New Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shares event details with the Foxboro Reporter and other local outlets to keep the community informed of Jaycee activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Supplies salt to Foxboro senior citizens during winter months to help prevent slips and falls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Decorates the Foxboro Town Common for the holidays with garlands, bows, and lights. A committee is recommended due to the size of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Awards college scholarships to Foxboro students. Volunteers review applications and essays to select recipients. A committee is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\nWays and Means (Fundraising)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Operates a concessions stand selling snacks and drinks during summer concerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hosts a fair featuring local artisans and vendors. Funds are raised through vendor fees, raffles, and concessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Runs a food tent during Foxboro\u2019s Founder\u2019s Day celebration, serving items such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and sausage. A committee is recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sells glow sticks and light-up items during the evening Founder\u2019s Day festivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\nIndividual Development<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
A monthly gathering where members read and discuss a selected book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An annual banquet celebrating accomplishments, presenting awards, and swearing in the new Board of Directors. A committee is recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A holiday social event where members gather at multiple homes for appetizers, dinner, and dessert. A committee is recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coordinates a group outing for Jaycee members to attend a Providence Bruins hockey game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A casual social evening centered around the card game Scat-31<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\nMembership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Provides Jaycee-branded clothing to members in recognition of project participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Promotes the Jaycees at community events through informational booths with photos and materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
