Community Night Out Against Crime and Drugs

TUESDAY AUGUST 3, 2021, 6:00-8:00 PM

WHAT IS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT? National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August — community events include with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.

Here in Foxboro, originally known as Family Night Out, National Night Out is also designed to:

– Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
– Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
– Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships;
– Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

On Tuesday, August 3, neighborhoods throughout Foxborough are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “Annual National Night Out” (NNO) crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by The Foxborough Police and The Foxboro Jaycees will involve over 16,540 communities from all 50 states, US territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world. In all, over 38.1 million people are expected to participate in “America’s Night Out Against Crime and Drugs”.

On NNO, we invite everyone to join us in Giving Crime & Drugs A Going Away Party.”
